Training

SPG Training Cadre is made up of mostly current and former law enforcement officers. Our training is primarily meant for those that are involved in public safety at major events and conventions. We also provide smaller training classes for Security Officers and those that may find themselves in the middle of a catastrophic type of incident.

Civilian Active Shooter Response

Facilitated by Active Shooter Threat Expert, Jon Simon

As seen on news broadcasts and heard at conventions across American, Jon Simon teaches students how to respond during an active shooter/assailant event. Both table top and life-like seminars are taught by a team of experienced instructors.

Reality Based Training: Use of Force For Armed Private Security Officers

Nightclub and Bar Security (2.5 hours)

This course introduces several topics:

  • Alcohol Liability
  • Conflict Resolution
  • Identification: Fake or Borrowed
  • Terrorism Awareness
  • Civil, Criminal & Admin Liability
  • Protecting your venue's interest

This course teach security officers how to handle conflicts in a courteous, professional manner. The course will cover Communication, Behavior Signs, Redirecting Negative Behavior, and De-escalation techniques.

Ethics and Professional Standards (2 hours)

This course discusses the Ethical & Professional Standards as it relates to the security industry. The course includes: ethical behavior, prejudices, client relations, reputation management and basic moral codes. Students will discuss how Ethics are related to their job and affect their work.

Security Patrol Tactics (4 hours)

This course covers basic and some advance tactics for field use. Areas of instruction are:

  • Perimeter Control
  • Crime Scene Preservation
  • Solo Tactical Movement
  • Moving with a partner
  • Building Search
  • Vehicle Cover
  • Safe foot patrols
  • 21' rule
  • Flashlight discipline
  • Night patrol techniques

This class is both lecture and hands-on.
